About the Program
Our state licensed facility is located in the city of Pico Rivera off Paramount Blvd between Whittier and Washington
We are a Preschool | Pre-K Enrichment Program inspired by Forest School, Reggio, Waldorf & Montessori. The teacher to child ratio 1 to 8 provides a higher quality class experience. Our curriculum is emergent constructivist, focusing on the child’s interests following seasonal themes. Our Intro DLI (Dual Language Immersion) in Spanish is integrated during morning circle time. A child’s week consists of: ESTREAM (Environment, Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts & Mathematic) activities. Our large circle time is social emotional with music & movement. Small group activities involve holiday themes.
Children learn through play and acquire skills as they grow. Our combined class of different age groups allows younger children exposure to verbal & social skills while older children simultaneously learn patience, respect, empathy & kindness. We provide a balance of play based & academic approach to help with a child’s well being & readiness for elementary but most importantly, for their future years!
Some of our certificates:
- Pediatrics First Aid & CPR
- ServSafe Food Handler’s Safety/Allergens
- Dual Language Learners
- Capturing Children’s Hearts
- Early Childhood Development
Reviews about our program
What sets us apart from other programs?

At Children’s Nature Academy, Children have the opportunity of being outdoors thanks to our amazing California weather. We build up to the name and slogan “Where Learning Bee-comes Fun”, children learn through hands on exploration activities within the environment.
Some of the things we have available for outdoor play: A large Mud Kitchen area, a Sand Shipwreck, a Medieval Castle, various tricycles, other large motor and balancing equipment. Indoors, we have learning stations such as a veterinarian clinic, pediatrician office, marketplace with a bakery, little school bus, our little library with puppet theater, a light projector and Montessori table activities.
Our program has a low child to teacher ratio providing a high quality class experience.

Parent involvement is important to us, having a tribe and connecting within our community. We incorporate family time at field trips, meetups, events and workshops in hope for our families to enrich their children’s inner skills and make connections with other families.
